At Nevada HAND “More Than A Home” starts with the relationships and continual customer service the Resident Services Coordinators develop and provide to residents.

When Nevada HAND resident, Hirney Jimenez-Vasquez, faced financial hardship from losing her job during the pandemic, she knew exactly who to call. Over the two years Hirney and her family have lived at Nevada HAND’s Rome Pines community, she and Resident Services Coordinator, Chris Mitchell, have become great friends. With Chris’ guidance and knowledge of resources, Hirney received financial assistance so her family could continue to call Nevada HAND “More Than A Home.”

Nevada HAND has been helping our neighbors, like Hirney, as the state’s largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to developing, constructing, and managing high-quality, affordable rental homes and supportive services for working families and seniors fixed incomes. Through their Resident Services program, they create opportunities to “live well,” by providing access to community resources like rental and employment assistance and engagement activities.

Over the last year, our community has been reminded that home is essential. Nevada HAND strives to help solve the affordable housing shortage and currently has 900 units under construction – but that’s not enough. Community support is vital in continuing our mission to improve the lives of low-income individuals by providing affordable housing solutions and supportive services. By donating to Nevada HAND, you help us provide opportunities and support for economic security, wellness, education, and community engagement that will help our residents reach their full potential and access opportunities to live well.
