Mission
& Vision
Nevada H.A.N.D., Inc improves the lives of low-income individuals
by providing affordable housing solutions and supportive services.
To accomplish this mission, Nevada H.A.N.D., Inc. intends
to construct, purchase, sell, renovate, manage, and otherwise
operate low and moderate-income housing projects in Nevada;
to encourage, assist, and facilitate economic development
through job training of eligible participants in the course
of developing affordable housing; to coordinate or assist,
upon request, affordable housing projects involving other
community based organizations.
Nevada H.A.N.D., Inc. is a local non-profit organization that
develops affordable housing in the metropolitan Las Vegas
area. Since our inception in 1993, we have been very successful
in providing safe, decent, energy-efficient affordable housing
to Nevada’s low-income seniors and families. We strongly
believe however, that providing the “bricks and mortar”
that house our residents is only part of our mission. To further
our efforts we have created our Resident Service Department
to provide opportunities for financial empowerment and enhanced
quality of life for our residents.
Nevada HAND Resident Services Department was created in 1999,
to enhance the quality of life of our residents. The mission
of Resident Services is to educate our residents about existing
social services and activities and to coordinate their use.
Rather than trying to duplicate existing programs, we help
social service agencies and nonprofits provide their services
to our residents.
Since our residents have already undergone careful income
qualification, we can immediately determine their eligibility
for various programs, saving valuable administrative time
for the providers. We will also be helping providers with
marketing and outreach by providing more efficient delivery
of services to relatively large groups of low-income residents
in our affordable housing communities.

The
goals of our Resident Service Department are:
- To empower our multifamily adult residents to
improve their financial condition and help them
achieve homeownership;
- To enhance the health and welfare of our resident
children by providing educational assistance, computer
training, nutrition programs, social and physical
activities;
- To empower our senior residents to live independently
longer, allowing them to age in place for as long
as possible.
