Nevada HAND acquired Ogden Pines in March 1999. Ogden Pines
is located in the “Enterprise Zone” in downtown
Las Vegas, one block south of Stewart Pines. The acquisition
and rehab of Ogden Pines is consistent with our strategy of
concentrating our efforts in a specific neighborhood to create
a significant impact and to encourage surrounding owners to
rehabilitate their properties.
Ogden Pines consists of a two-story garden style apartment
building containing one and two bedroom units targeted to
households earning 50% or less of the area median income.
The total acquisition and rehabilitation costs of
approximately $1,200,000 were financed with a variety of public
and private partners.
• Pioneer Citizens Bank provided the permanent loan
of $675,000 and a $5,000 predevelopment grant.
• The City of Las Vegas provided a redevelopment grant
of approximately $310,000 for the acquisition and a $50,000
Federal HOME grant for a portion of the rehab.
• The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco provided
an affordable housing grant of $150,000 for the rehabilitation
